A NIGHTMARE FADES, A DREAM COMES TRUE IN PHASES
For Bruce and Belinda Roberts, Elk Haven began as a blend of vision, practicality, and personal connection. Bruce had the energy to restore the once-dilapidated Elks Lodge, and combining two family businesses under one roof made financial sense. Its close proximity to their home made the space feel familiar—like an old friend ready for new purpose. But at its core, Elk Haven became a wellness center because it fulfilled a long-held dream of Belinda’s, born out of her own healing journey.
Diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Disease and Lupus while raising a toddler, Belinda turned to alternative healing methods in a pre-internet world, determined to find a path outside of chemo and steroids. Her discovery of the macrobiotic diet introduced her to the foundational concepts of Chinese medicine and opened up a whole new way of understanding health. Twenty years later—healthy and now a mother of four—she pursued formal training at the Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine and became a licensed practitioner.
Not long after graduation, Belinda and Bruce purchased the Elks Lodge and transformed it step by step into Elk Haven Wellness Center. For Belinda, it’s the embodiment of a dream shaped by experience, study, and a deep desire to help others find healing through natural, life-affirming practices. Each day at 100 Elks Club Road, she brings that purpose to life, offering care rooted in compassion, balance, and the wisdom of her own journey.
